The Reality of the Breakfast Club essays

The Reality of the Breakfast Club essays Was the teen flick actually a publicized story of our high school Prairie Ridge High School? Some think so, and some not, while others are in between. Obviously the fashion style, music, and slang are out-of-date but the students interacting might be another story. Groups still exist among the crowds, but are those important today in our society? A good deal of the movie is consisted in the social genres of high school. From the jocks and the prissy girls to the goths and nerds, we all in reality deal with the same difficulties of life. Some not as extreme as other, but we all have our own experiences. I dont believe in having social groups since many people are judged by that, but if everyone was the same, life would be simply boring. Boundaries need to be broken in order to experience life to the fullest. Luck fully for the teens in the movie thats just what happened. I believe though at Prairie Ridge social genres are stricter more among certain genres then other schools in our district. Our school boundaries lie mostly in the rich community, so money definitely plays a role here. The preppies are your friends if you have the style and the right social status. While others are rebellious towards them since they believe money doesnt define a person, its the person that defines the person. But not everyone is rebellious, so I nicknamed them as in-betweeners. To me they dont care about the rumors or how much the persons father makes a year, just the person, or even perhaps their moral standards. Our interests draw us to each other, not by how we are supposed to belong with certain people. In the movie, the students put aside all their differences and decided to become friends and some even more. At Prairie Ridge some boundaries between people have been broken as well and became friendships, but nothing more then that. In our school society that is taboo. ...

If it adds to the overall experience, we recommend it.However, if pictures will only be a distraction and not useful, skip them.#2 How long do I want this book to be, anyway?Does it matter, or do I just write until I am done? This is a question many authors have regularly. How many words ar e in a novel? For writing a book about your business, we recommend you write between 20,000 50,000 words. This is because any shorter, and it wont give your readers all the information they want and more than 50,000 words and you run the risk of boring your readers or giving them too much information. This is also known as overwriting, which can be trimmed during editing but you want to make sure your book is a clean, concise, and helpful as possible.#3 Do I want multiple formats of a book?Publishing your book in different formats can help you reach a wider audience. But that also means you have to decide if you want to pursue multiple formats. Here are the different book formats you can publish:Publish an ebookPaperback bookHardcoverAudiobooksEach of these book variations comes with its own pros and cons. For example, if you choose to distribute an audiobook, youll have to learn how to make an audiobook in the first place.Publishing ebooks also comes with its own set of rules to foll ow.Ultimately, its recommended to publish a version of each in order to maximize your audience, but do what works best for you.Choosing a Title for Your BookPeople like knowing other people’s business. Call them curious, call them snoopy, just call to them to buy your book to learn about your business. Teach them your secrets. Here are some overall tips for titling a book from the Self-Publishing School Youtube Channel. If you want some additional tips for choosing a book title, heres what worked for me:A book about a business is a niche market, so make sure that your title makes the topic clear. For example, The Craft Fair Vendor Guidebook lets the reader know that the book is a guide about being a craft fair vendor. The subtitle, Ideas to Inspire, adds another element to the reader’s expectations. The cover’s photograph shows a booth with handcrafted jewelry, another clue.In your book’s description, clearly explain what type(s) of business you will be co vering. People like to know what to expect and may feel tricked if the book’s description isn’t comprehensive enough. A suggestion is to write your book’s description before writing the book. It’s like a â€Å"thesis paragraph† to keep yourself focused. You can keep revising the overview to fit the book as it develops. Also, that gives you more time to decide if the description is its absolute best before uploading it onto your publishing site.Spell out examples of how your business practices can be applied to other ventures. The more crossover applications, the more types of people will be interested in your book.Although you want all of the book to be appealing, you want the first pages to be extra engaging because those are the pages that potential readers will see if they use the â€Å"Look inside† feature on Amazon. If you searched for a book about someone else’s business, what details did you want to learn? Cover these topics in your book and then some- bonus points if you use a unique take on them.Writing a Book About Your BusinessNow that youve got to the meat of what youre writing about, you have a clear outline for your book, and you even have a title on hand, its time to write your book. These are my best tips for writing a book about your business in order to get it right.#1 Look over your brainstorming notesIt always pays to have your notes handy in case there are items you forgot about that are beneficial to include.Heres a few things to keep in mind when going back over your notes:Are there any important pieces of information that didnt make it into the outline? What bits and pieces of your notes can make your book more unique than others on the market? Is there anything you feel you need in your book that you didnt include in the outline before?Once youve got those notes, move on to the next step.#2 Get feedback from friendsTell a friend who doesn’t know much about business about your book.N otice the questions your friend asks because readers will most likely have the same questions. These are very important to take note of because theyre what youll directly answer and address in your book.Take those questions and create sections in your chapters to answer them specifically.#3 Develop a writing time and habitThe best way youll get your book done is to form a writing routine that will enable you to finish your book faster. You can set a scheduled time each day to write and notify those around you that it is your time to work on your book. These are our top tips for developing a writing habit:Create a writing schedule like the one featured aboveEliminate distractions that will keep you from writingFind a writing space thats 100% dedicated to writing your bookStick with it for the first few weeks before it forms into a habitFind others who can keep you accountableForming this habit can be the hardest part of writing a book about your business- especially because your busin ess takes up a lot of time.Using these tips will help.#4 Finish fast and with faultWorry about grammar laterbut please do worry about it later- editing your book is important!I recommend just plowing through in order to finish your first draft faster. After all, done is better than perfect.Plus, you cant edit a blank page and one of the biggest indicators of success for aspiring authors is finishing your first draft.#5 Create folders for imagesThis is a very important part of keeping all of your books contents organized so you dont make the mistakes of losing something thats vital. If you are going to have pictures, create folders to keep them organized. You can use Google Drive to store all of your photos so its easier to collaborate with your book formatter or editor.Another option is to use Dropbox for storing photos for your book. You can read about more pieces of writing software you can use for writing your book as well. The big takeaway with storing your images in folders, howe ver, is that you know exactly where everything is and can keep track of it through the proofing, editing, and publishing process.#6 Choose a publishing platformIf you are going to publish your book through more than one platform, definitely have folders to keep everything straight, like in the image below. Here are a few publishing platforms you can use:Amazon Kindle Direct PublishingBarnes and Noble PressIngramsparkLuluThere are other self-publishing companies out there but these are the top recommended.Another thing to keep in mind when choosing your publishing platform is that KDP and Barnes and Noble offer free ISBNs (only for distribution on their channels), while Ingramspark does not. However, Self-Publishing School students are recommended to buy unique ISBNs anyways, so you can distribute on multiple platforms in the future.#7 Read each chapter aloudYou can do this to yourself or even to others to see how it flows and to see what questions or suggestions your listeners may h ave.The reason for this is because you can often catch a lot of issues like your style, flow, or even sentence structure when reading aloud that you wont catch if you read it in your head. This is a great way to proof and self-edit your book.#8 Just keep writing Until you have covered everything important, just keep writing. Its the best way to write faster and finish your first draft.Dont think about anything else and just write. When you start worrying about your book or how itll be received, cast the thoughts aside and get back to it. Youll never publish a book if you cant finish it.#9 Proofread and reviseThe next step for writing a book about your business is to proofread it and reviseuntil you cant stand to look at your book any longer.Make notes in areas you want to change or you want your editor to pay special attention to.A great way to do this is to type TK into the text of your document so you can later do a search and find all TKs in your manuscript. This will only bring up those areas for you to rewrite or proof because TK doesnt appear next to each other in the English language.#10 Get feedback on the whole bookAsk people to give you feedback on the full book. They need to have excellent grammar skills and be detail-oriented.This is also known as the beta reading process or less commonly, the alpha reading process. The idea here is to have others give you direct and raw feedback about your book and what you can do to make it better. Here are some questions to ask people giving you feedback on your book:Was everything clear and easy to understand? What was your biggest takeaway from it?Did you find any parts boring or slow? What other feedback do you have that I didnt ask you about?Doing this will help ensure your published product is the best it can be for new readers.#11 Let it sitWhen you feel like you are done, don’t look at your manuscript for days, maybe even a week or two. Then go back with fresh eyes. You will find more errors to fix!Th e reason for this is to separate yourself from your work a bit. The longer youre away from your own work, the easier it is to determine its flaws, which will help you write a better book overall.#12 Publish Your Book About Your BusinessWhen you believe that your book is at its best, it is time to publish it.Search for the advantages and disadvantages of the publishing options and make your decision. Obviously, Im a big proponent of self-publishing a book, but you can check out this blog post about the differences between self-publishing vs traditional publishing. From there, you can prepare a launch party and gather your launch team. Upload your book and congratulate yourself! Exciting days are ahead! Are you ready to write your own book about your business? You can start TODAY! God, Freedom, & human Dignity Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words

God, Freedom, & human Dignity - Essay Example The author Highfield starts with depicting the modern conceptions about relationship. In previous ages, the relationships would be natural or socially given. We could not be free from the social web and from the relationship imposed on us by the society. Highfield calls this understanding of self as â€Å"me – centred† This identity is not selfish or narcissistic but it is based on self desire and not on identity conferring relationship. Chapter 1 of the part one is based on the work of moral philosophers such as Plato, Aristotle In ancient culture, the identity of the person would be decided in a moral space, where respect, fullness and dignity were recognized by the external things such as the person’s family status, war and the glory he had achieved. Earlier Plato and later Augustine and Hippo put forward the theory of inwardness. Augustine gave importance to the purity of heart. Unlike the previous philosophers, Galileo saw the world as a machine, a dead matt er. Rene Descartes, the French philosophers accepted the same view of Galileo, though he was not completely atheist. There were slight differences between both of these experts’ philosophy. Unlike the teleological views of Plato and Aristotle, another philosopher, John Locke was anti-teleological. He opined that human nature seeks only pleasure and avoid any pains. For Plato wisdom is more important than military glory and honour. Christianity strongly supports the idealness of life only through the complete dedication and commitment towards God. The medieval Christian thought that the path towards God can be found only by renouncing worldly pleasure. Sixteen century Protestant Reformation movement on the other hand aimed at breaking down the medieval spiritual hierarchy. They were of the view that salvation came by faith alone and not by self-negating works. The devotees do not need any mediator between him and God. While discussing the principles of Deism the author makes i t clear that Deism believes in the existence of God, though they reject all religious books and dogma and demagogy and believe that God has given human being an ability of reasoning. Hence following the rules of the nature is the only way to believe in God. Happiness and sorrow are the two paradoxical sides of the same coin. The happiness and grief are subjective and circumstantial. He tells different views of the people about God. Some feel that God is hostile towards humanity. Some are doubtful about His existence. Some consider God as their arch-enemy. The second chapter mainly throws the light of the characters who are challenging the omnipotent divine power i.e. God. Among them are Prometheus and Satan in Milton’s Paradise Lost. Many of the literary experts have glorified Prometheus as he challenged God fearlessly. Many think that God is a threat to their freedom and dignity. Chapter three argues the two concepts, i.e. deviance and subservience. God is omnipotent. The wr iter informs the reader about the influence of God on the primitive man when man used to get afraid of the natural calamities and he realised that there is a supreme power controlling the universe and the same power is the creator of human being also. To please this power for the sake of a secure and comfortable life, man started worshiping the power and the power is God. Since the time of creation, man has been worshiping God to attain something and to accomplish his desires. But no one worshiped Him for love. The writer confesses that he would be jealous to God

Business Execution Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Business Execution - Essay Example Thus, execution is a key to organizational success. Without a careful, planned approach to execution, strategic goals cannot be attained. I believe that business execution is one of the cornerstones of a business organization's success. Business plans and strategies are useless unless they are executed. The realization of the company's goals is almost fully dependent on the execution of its plans. However, it should also be noted that execution in business is often tedious and complicated. For one, the plans being executed should always be modified in order to cope with the changes and developments in the environment. Execution is also a matter of coordinating everyone in the company to carry out their specific functions as planned. I would also like to stress that execution is only as good as the plan and strategy created. Even if the firm has been very good in putting its plan into action if the plan is not efficient, it will still be far from realizing its goals and objectives.

Overcoming Physical Challenges :: Personal Narrative Essays

Overcoming Physical Challenges    I'm 17-years-old and I feel like I'm about twice my age. I have had a strange childhood and have gone through a lot. The reason is due to several medical conditions I have. I prefer calling them physical challenges rather than handicaps or anything like that.    I would have to say this all started when I was 11-years-old. My legs just started giving me trouble. I was having a lot of trouble doing my dancing and baton classes because my knees kept feeling like they were popping out. I ignored it for a while, but eventually it came to be too much so I had to go see a doctor. After my exam, my doctor diagnosed me with sublexing patellas, which means my kneecaps pop out of place. This was just the beginning of my trouble.    About a year later, my muscles started to atrophy in my legs and I lost all muscle tone. I was devastated emotionally and physically. I could no longer walk, so I was put in a wheelchair. With this I lost not only my physical mobility but also my dreams of being a professional dancer. My mom stood strong and took me to see the best doctors she could find and this led me to the Shriners' Hospital in Montreal, Canada. Here is where I received my first ray of hope. By the time I left I was walking with a walker and then just a cane. They were like miracle workers. I slowly gained back my muscle tone, but it was a long process and sometimes I just felt like giving up. I had many supporters who helped me and gave me the strength and courage I needed.    I thought this would be an end to my medical problems, but then one summer I stopped breathing for no understandable reason. My mom revived me and then I was taken to the doctors to find out I had acquired costochronditis, which is the inflammation of the muscles near your sternum. My breathing troubles continued and they also decided to try some medications on me, but none worked, so we let things go.    Then just when I thought my life was floating back to normal for the average 13-year-old, I again encountered a new medical diagnosis. This time I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, which affects all the muscles and bones in my body and explains some of my earlier trouble.

Compare and Contrast “Romeo and Juliet” and “Gnomeo and Juliet” Essay

The book ‘Romeo and Juliet’ by William Shakespeare is about two opposing families with much hatred for each other. It shares many similarities, as well as many differences to the movie ‘Gnomeo and Juliet’ directed by Kelly Asbury. In both the film and the play, both families have extreme hatred for each other. For that reason, Romeo/Gnomeo and Juliet find a way to secretly show love for each other. Also in both the film and the play, Romeo/Gnomeo and Juliet fall in love at first sight. After just a day of knowing each other, Romeo and Juliet are surely in love and decide to secretly get married. Another similarity that they have, is Romeo/Gnomeo and Tybalt hate each other very much. In both the movie and the play, Romeo/Gnomeo and Juliet secretly sneak off to see each other. This is the only way they could be with each other without getting caught. In the end, they both have families that resolve their hatred for each other that has followed them for so long. The book and movie as well, have many differences. In ‘Romeo and Juliet’ Romeo is killed with the poison that he drank. Therefore, Juliet also kills herself because she cannot live without the love of her life, Romeo. Tybalt ends up killing Mercutio. Romeo is fierce that his friend Mercutio is dead, so Tybalt and Romeo fight and Romeo kills Tybalt. Romeo also kills Paris. At the end of the story, Lady Montague also dies because of grief over the banishment of her son. However, in the film ‘Gnomeo and Juliet’ nobody dies, which is probably one of the biggest differences in ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and ‘Gnomeo and Juliet.’ In Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet marry after just one day of knowing each other. Of course they do this secretly because they do not want the Capulets, nor the Montagues to know that Romeo and Juliet love each other. In difference, Gnomeo and Juliet wait until the family feud is resolved rather than to go behind their parent’s backs and marry secretly. In the book ‘Romeo and Juliet’ after Tybalt is killed, he remains dead. However, in the movie ‘Gnomeo and Juliet’ Tybalt is revived. The movie ‘Gnomeo and Juliet’ does not have Lady Capulet, or Sir Montague, the original ‘Romeo and Juliet’ book does. Lady Capulet dies after her son drinks the poison, because she could not bear his death. The time periods in both are very different also. ‘Romeo and Juliet’ was written long ago. ‘Gnomeo and Juliet’ is an Animate movie in which took place in different backyards that did not get along and had much hatred for each other.

How Make Money Online As An Ebay Essay - 971 Words

How to Make Money Online as an eBay Affiliate By Jorge Gurza Dec 25, 2007 If you are new to internet marketing, you should learn how to make money online from eBay. If you have not heard of eBay than you must have just landed from another planet, since it is the world s biggest and best known online auction site. There are many different ways of making money online, ranging from affiliate marketing to direct sales of your own product. Affiliate marketing is a method of making money by selling products belonging to other people. You basically earn a commission every time you send a prospect to somebody s sales page that results in a sale. There are subtle differences between affiliate marketing and acting as a salesperson for someone else, but the end result is the same: if somebody buys then you earn money. However, you can also earn affiliate money, not by finding prospects that purchase a product, but that sign up for service. There are many online membership companies that can make a lot of money from people who register for their service, and eBay is one of the biggest. eBay is an internet auction site that allows you to sell products and to purchase them. Many eBay sellers are ordinary people selling items that they no longer have a use for. You could sell an old CD, jewelery, books and anything you think you can get money for.
